V roce 1976 používal se skupinou The Cafe Racers - Selmer 2 x 12 tube amp. O rok později používá Fender Vibrolux 30 Watt, 1 x 12“. V roce 1978 Fender Twin Reverb, který na koncertech kombinuje s boxem Marshall 4 x 12“, Silver Face, Roland Jazz Chorus, Fender Vibrolux, 30 Watt 1 x 12“. Koncem roku používá na koncertech také Music Man HD 130, 2 x 12“, 130 Watt.
V letech 80 až 81 na desce Making používal Movies dva Music Man HD 130, 2 x 12“, 130 Watt, spolu s boxem Marshall 4 x 12“.
1982 - 84 na albu Love over Gold přechází na hlavu Mesa Boogie a Marshall s boxy Marshall 4 x 12“ osazenými Electro Voice reproduktory.
Deska Brothers in Arms a léta 85-86 používá hlavu Mesa Boogie spolu s boxem Marshall 4 x 12“ opět osazeným Electro Voice reproduktory. Slavná kytara z titulní písně desky je přes Marshall JTM a dále je na desce použito Jim Kelley combo amp s EVM12L.
1987-89 album Miracle. Zde používá Gallien & Krueger amps a na albu Land of Dreams s Randy Newmanem Soldano SLO 100 s boxem Marshall 4 x 12“, osazeným Electro Voice reproduktory. V letech 1990-92 živě i ve studiu používá dvě Soldano SLO 100 s Marshall 4 x 12“ boxy osazenými Electro Voice reproduktory a na albu On Every Street používá staré Fender aparáty.
Rok 1996 album Golden Heart. Zde použil Soldano SLO 100 s boxy Marshall 4 x 12“ shodně osazenými EV reproduktory, Fender Vibrolux 30 Watt, box 1 x 12“ a Crate VC5212, 50 Watt, box 2 x 12“.
